ABSTRACT
The research was conducted from October 2004 until June 2005 at the Natar Village, Natar Subdistrict, South Lampung
Regency. The objective of the study was to know the effect of the application of bokashi on the growth of Damar shoot
cutting. The experimental units were arranged in Randomized Completely Block Design with five blocks. The following
treatments were applied i.e. soil, soil : sawdust bokashi (2:1), soil : sawdust bokashi (1:1), soil : husk bokashi (2:1), and soil :
husk bokashi (1:1). The analysis of variance and orthogonal constrasts to compare the treatment and/or block effects. The
result showed that the application of bokashi at growth media had positive effect on the some growth variable especially life
percentage, cutting height, shoot long, leaf number, and root long. The application of sawdust bokashi at the growth media
had better effect than husk bokashi on the growth of Damar shoot cutting. The growth media in the form of soil : husk
bokashi (2:1) was able to produce the best life percentage, cutting height, shoot number, shoot long, leaf number, and root
long growth.
